Track Camp: GO

Today is the first day of our USA Cycling National Track Sprint Team Camp, and also the USA Cycling Talent I.D. Camp here in Colorado Springs. Doesn’t feel any different for those of us who live here, but it’s nice to see some familiar faces walking around the training center.

Friday night I prepared myself for some keirin racing at the local Colorado Velodrome Association night races, but as the rain poured down, it became evident that the single heat of cat 3 men was the only race that would be completed that night. Fortunately, I won that heat, therefore, I am the winner of the entire night! (self-proclaimed)  😉

With riders coming in from other countries, it’s going to be my first UCI even of the season, and I’m hoping for some good results to get some points added up. The team sprint and keirin will take place on friday, and the match sprints on saturday. Maddie Godby is my team sprint “partner-in-crime”, and we’ll be rocking our Pearl Izumi “sheer blueberry” speed suits!

It should be a fun week hanging out with a bunch of track sprinters. I mean, when isn’t it?
